Finally the weather cleared and this morning's fine haze was replaced with bright blue skies and sunshine. We knew it was going to get busy, Bank Holiday Monday on the coast is always busy, and so we left early and headed along the cliffs. Regular stone quarries came, the path continued westward and so did we, pausing only to watch the Peregrines, Fulmars and Ravens. After spending time at St.Aldhelm's Head we turned inland to find the fabled Square & Compass for a pint and a pasty.
Days like this don't happen often enough.
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsula on the southern tip of the the county of Dorset in England. The photographs I take, hopefully, help to express how I feel about this magical place and show you things which you may see if you come to visit. I am a full time, professional photographer and have a gallery in Swanage. Please feel free to click on the picture to see it larger or to look at my other photographs. www.purbeckfootprints.co.uk

More Big Pics
I'm going through my photographs a fair bit at the moment, looking for shots that I want to print big. These are the latest, being printed at A2, so I can check them out.
A couple of them may be made in to canvases too.
This exhibition means a great deal to me and I want to do it right!

Around The World In 80 Minutes
Weighing in at a hefty 40 tonnes and standing three metres tall The Great Globe at Durlston Country Park shows the world as it was through the eyes of a wealthy businessman about 130 years ago. I spend a lot of time wandering the many paths that crisscross the park, it is one of my favourite places, but for just over an hour on a glorious Sunday morning as the clouds cleared from the sky, I stayed within site of the globe and clicked away.

Tyneham Cap:
The walk to Tyneham Cap is uphill, of course, but it is not difficult. The path follows the western ridge above Kimmeridge and ends with some of the most incredible views around.
Look east or west and you are in for a treat, this is one of our 'must do' wanders.

The March Hare
Obviously with something else on his mind the buck came within just a few feet of me, far too close for the big lens but giving me plenty of time to get a good look. The object of his affection, a fine looking doe, was not having any of it however and had already caused a good bit of damage to the buck's ear!
Watching these creatures is always good but getting nice and close is a bonus.

Saturdays - Calm and Quiet
It has been a funny old day, mild but with a chilly wind, bright but with those annoying silver-white clouds that look so dull in photographs.
Still, a Saturday is still a Saturday and that means a walk or two is on the cards. The first and probably the most important was with the dogs, this is a good time for me too and is about as therapeutic as you can get. A real antidote to a difficult week.
Later, a wander inland to see what I could see. Roe deer, Foxes and Adders were all out to play.
All in all, not a bad start to the weekend.
