Fossils are all over the place on the Isle of Purbeck but a fossil trackway
is very special and shows the footprints of Sauropods laid down over 100
million years ago. I have marked a few of the footprints on one
photograph but there are many more and seeing the soil stripped away to
reveal such a find is incredible.
For more info on the Sauropod, check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Sauropoda
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsula on the southern tip of the the county of Dorset in England. The photographs I take, hopefully, help to express how I feel about this magical place and show you things which you may see if you come to visit. I am a full time, professional photographer and have a gallery in Swanage. Please feel free to click on the picture to see it larger or to look at my other photographs. www.purbeckfootprints.co.uk

First You Make Contact...
It took a little while but we found a Fox.
He was careful, as you would expect, but he was the big brother: the brave one!
Slowly, with courage and determination reserved for the first born he got
closer and stayed as close as he wanted.
He seemed happy enough, I wasn’t a threat
and there was room enough in his world for both of us.
It was then that some of his family turned
up.
This was the smallest, a beautiful little girl who stayed a little further away than the rest, sitting quietly, watching and waiting. As if wanted to come and say hello, but didn't know if she should.

Prehistoric
The connection
between dinosaurs and birds is well documented but there are not too many birds
that look as if they would be happy flying in the Jurassic era. The Shag and
the Cormorant are two of these and the beauty
of both is not apparent until you get close.
