Last nights wander was just about perfect, a beautiful setting Sun, a slight breeze, several Foxes, a Badger and a Roe Deer.
I think that the Roe Deer is our most beautiful animal and at this time of year it is looking its best.
Foxes too are a favourite. A wild Fox, in its own environment, is also great to watch. They have the most expressive eyes in the business and it is easy to think that if you look into those deep brown eyes you may well lose a part of yourself for ever.
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsula on the southern tip of the the county of Dorset in England. The photographs I take, hopefully, help to express how I feel about this magical place and show you things which you may see if you come to visit. I am a full time, professional photographer and have a gallery in Swanage. Please feel free to click on the picture to see it larger or to look at my other photographs. www.purbeckfootprints.co.uk

The Young and the Restless
We have a garden full of youngsters at the moment. Apart from the Sparrows, Starlings, Dunnocks, Robins etc we have had a visit from one of this years Squirrels. Not everyone's favourite, but they are always great to watch.

Turned out nice again!
After a particularly grotty, low cloud, dreary kind of day we have sun and a beautiful evening.
This is St.Aldhelm's Head, one of my favourite places.

Saturday Sika
Looking just about as good as they get to look, there may not be much sunshine around this weekend, but a walk to find these chaps is always fun.
I now have to make the choice whether to mow the lawn of disappear for a few hours....
I know I'm being boring, but if you are lucky enough to stumble across a young Sika or Roe deer, just take a photo and please keep on moving.
They are incredibly cute but are often left for hours at a time by their mothers. If they are touched, or stroked, or handled in any way (and I fully understand why anyone would want to do this) the chances are that they will be abandoned and the cry of a lost youngster is truly awful! Anyway, sorry about the lecture and I really hope that you see one....from a distance....

Walking from West to East along the Purbeck coast and you will eventually see the lighthouse at Anvil Point. It is just as much of a beacon if you are on land as it is if you at sea and I find myself walking faster as the prospect of a pint... at Durlston Castle gets closer and closer.
It has been a busy weekend and there hasn't been but much time for walking, but the Land of Purbeck calendar has now been finished and Geoff at Ghpm will have it tomorrow.
I can't believe it is almost Monday already!

Well, the first few 'jobs' have been done. The dogs were walked, a bacon sandwich was eaten at The Seagull Café and the coffee was drunk.
On to Sansum's to pick up the latest batch photographs that he has framed for me (he is a very busy ch...ap, but the results are always great) and then home to finish of the calendar.
Although I sometimes have to buy from out of town, I like using Geoff at Ghpm for my prints and calendars and Sansum, on the High Street, for the framing.
This evening I am free for a wander and it is my favourite time of the day. A time of Badgers, Foxes, Deer and me!

It has been a busy week and one in which i
have barely even picked up the camera! This weekend there is plenty to
do too, with more exhibition pictures to choose, another guided walk to
plan and next years calendar to finish.
In between that lot I need to get out for a proper wander to blow the cobwebs off of the camera.
Fingers crossed for a bit more sunshine.

Sea, Gulls & Seagulls?
Ask anyone in the know and they will tell that there is no such thing as a Seagull! Well, technically this may be true, but that won't stop you seeing many different types of non-seagull if you wander the cliffs of the Isle of Purbeck.
So, on a wonderful sunny day like today, do yourself a favour and go and watch the many species of Gulls as they show off their flying skills along the cliffs.
