Fully tooled up with a fine set of 8 point antlers, the Sika wasn't in the mood to hang about. He quickly guided his family through the bracken and disappeared into the trees. Usually, they are more than willing to pose and I can't help feeling a little guilty when I make them run.
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsula on the southern tip of the the county of Dorset in England. The photographs I take, hopefully, help to express how I feel about this magical place and show you things which you may see if you come to visit. I am a full time, professional photographer and have a gallery in Swanage. Please feel free to click on the picture to see it larger or to look at my other photographs. www.purbeckfootprints.co.uk

That's a classic photo from the composition, to the sika, to the background. Is this a game reserve or are these guys just wild in the area?
Thanks Gary
These are wild deer, but they do wander on to protected land owned by charities or the Government.
They are culled to keep the numbers down, but they are not regularly hunted.
Lovely light, great pose ~ very nice indeed!
