As if the evening needed to get better, we finally found the Purbeck Barn Owl. These have been at the top of my hit list for years.
In fact not just the one Barn Owl, but an adult and a youngster!
The Sun was sinking behind the hills far too quickly, making any shot difficult, but junior decided to sit in a tree for a while and scream for his dinner.
(It didn't take too long to find which tree!)
We stayed watching the birds, as they hunted, long after the sun had set and found it very hard to leave!
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsula on the southern tip of the the county of Dorset in England. The photographs I take, hopefully, help to express how I feel about this magical place and show you things which you may see if you come to visit. I am a full time, professional photographer and have a gallery in Swanage. Please feel free to click on the picture to see it larger or to look at my other photographs. www.purbeckfootprints.co.uk
