Fully tooled up with a fine set of 8 point antlers, the Sika wasn't in the mood to hang about. He quickly guided his family through the bracken and disappeared into the trees. Usually, they are more than willing to pose and I can't help feeling a little guilty when I make them run.
That's a classic photo from the composition, to the sika, to the background. Is this a game reserve or are these guys just wild in the area?

ReplyDeleteThese are wild deer, but they do wander on to protected land owned by charities or the Government.
They are culled to keep the numbers down, but they are not regularly hunted.
