A Local Seal

Lately we have been visited by at least one Grey Seal, who seems more than happy to swim around the bay delighting all those that see him.
On Saturday he popped up just behind one of the Swanage Sea Rowing Club gigs, just a few feet from the quay and then did a pretty good of avoiding having his photo taken.

I had the huge pleasure of spending a little time yesterday morning with members of the Swanage R.N.L.I. taking their lifeboat crew photographs. All of the current crew were there as well as quite a few past crew members. The weather wasn't great, I had only a limited time before the Sun disappeared and the sky turned a very unremarkable grey, but all of the crew, both current and past, were fine company.

A Durlston Wander

An easy couple of hours spent wandering Durlston Country Park, a real gem that I am lucky enough to have on my doorstep.
I can never get bored here.

The Purbeck Dolphin

I am not getting out as much as I would like, partly because of the weather partly due to work, and so I think it is time for another collection.
We have had the Purbeck Fox and now it is time for the Purbeck Dolphin. These photographs were taken from the coast path on the cliffs that make up the southern border of the Isle of Purbeck. We don't see them very often but when we do they are a real crowd pleaser.

I have a great liking for the Fox! It is an animal that I can spend far too long looking for and watching. As the evenings become ever shorter the chances of me getting out to spend time with them get less and less. So, for that reason if one was needed, here are some of my favourite Fox moments.

A Sunday Morning Bug Hunt

There are still plenty of creepy crawlies in the meadows if you look hard enough. This mornings bug hunt came up with Spiders, Crane Flies, Bees, Wasps, Hoverflies and Grasshoppers. Taking photographs of this little beasts is quite addictive.

Getting Closer to Dragons

We are coming to the end of Dragonfly season and, as the days get cooler, the chances of seeing one get worse and worse. And so, because I find these incredible creatures completely addictive, I thought I would post a few of my favourite close-ups.
