I spent the best part of an hour following this very active Black Redstart around Durlston, as there aren't many around here. The fun had to come to an end, though, when I put my hand on a rather annoyed Adder. I'm not sure which one of us was more surprised, but it certainly took my mind off photography for a while.

Brilliant picture, something else for me to look out for when visiting Durlston. You were lucky the snake did not bite you. My Mother lived in Australia for eighteen years and she trod on a Browny snake, the snake bit her on her foot. Fortunately for my Mother the venom did not go in, it sank its fangs in her foot but could not get enough pressure to release the venom.
